Katherine A. Marinac
Property/Asset and Leasing Management

Kathy Marinac has managed commercial properties since 1988. She is an award-winning professional known for her ability to improve the value of real estate assets and successfully achieve clients' and owners' objectives.
Kathy joined A&L Properties in March 2006 after moving back to Duluth-her hometown. Prior to that, Kathy had lived and worked in the Twin Cities for 22 years.
Her position with A&L Properties is a combination of property/asset management and leasing space for over 1 million square feet, which includes a variety of office, retail, industrial and residential properties located mainly in the Twin Ports, Iron Range and Minneapolis. There are additional properties out of state. Kathy has also been focused on developing standard operating procedures and on organizing the A&L office, staff and portfolio.
Prior to moving back to Duluth, Kathy worked for Welsh Companies in Minneapolis for nine years. Her career with Welsh started with working for an institutional New York-based owner for the first six years, overseeing the on-site management of Southdale Office Center in Minneapolis, a 443,000 square foot complex. In addition, she provided asset management services for 540,000 square feet of retail properties in Florida.
Beginning in 2003, Kathy assumed asset management responsibility for a commercial real estate portfolio for the same institutional New York-based owner. The portfolio of over 2 million square feet consisted of office, retail and industrial properties, located in various cities around the country. The primary focus of this assignment was to assist the owner with the safe disposition and due diligence while overseeing property management and leasing, and improving the market condition of these properties. Once this portolio was dissolved, Kathy continued working for other owners and investors in the asset management role, including acquisitions, dispositions and organization of the asset management department.
Before joining Welsh, Kathy was a property manager at JPM, Inc., managing Southdale Office Center. She also spent eight years with CB Commercial in Minneapolis as a real estate manager and one year with Trammell Crow Residential in Minneapolis, managing and leasing an apartment complex.
